What is a kitchen timer?

A kitchen timer tells you when food is ready, so you can do something else while it cooks. In Tapsle, set the timer to add one every minute with the cooking time as the target. The card shows the minutes done and the time to the next one, and your target sound plays when it is ready.

  • Minutes for any dish
  • A sound when it is done
  • Big number across the kitchen
  • A card per dish with Plus
Timer mode, in Tapsle

Any counter becomes a kitchen timer.

Open a counter’s settings, switch Counting to Timer and set the schedule. Tapsle adds to the count on every interval, plays your sound, and stops at the target. Pause from the card whenever you need to.

Several dishes at once

A Sunday roast has the meat, the potatoes and the gravy on different clocks. With Plus, run a timer for each on its own card. On Free, one timer runs at a time, so start the longest first and time the rest by its count.

Readable with flour on your hands

Open focus mode and the number fills the screen, so you can read it from the hob without touching the phone. Turn on Keep screen awake in Preferences and the screen stays on in focus mode where the browser allows it.

Kitchen timer or a wind-up timer?

A wind-up timer times one thing. Tapsle times each dish and remembers your favourites.

Kitchen timer questions

Can I time more than one dish?

Free includes one running timer at a time. Tapsle Plus runs several at once, so each dish has its own card and its own sound.

Will I hear it over the cooking?

Choose a clear target sound such as Bell or Whistle and turn the volume up. On phones that support it, Tapsle vibrates as well.

Can I save my usual dishes?

Yes. Each counter keeps its name, time and target, so your pasta or rice timer is ready the next time you open Tapsle.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the timer on screen while I read a recipe?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the kitchen timer floats above your recipe. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.

Pan on. We will watch the clock.
