What is a countdown timer?

A countdown timer runs from a set time down to zero and signals when it gets there. In Tapsle, a timer counter shows Next in, the time left until the next count, and the ring fills toward your target. Set one interval for a single countdown, or several to count the minutes as they pass.

  • Any length, seconds to hours
  • Time left always on the card
  • A sound at zero
  • Pause and resume at any time
Timer mode, in Tapsle

Any counter becomes a countdown timer.

Open a counter’s settings, switch Counting to Timer and set the schedule. Tapsle adds to the count on every interval, plays your sound, and stops at the target. Pause from the card whenever you need to.

More than one countdown

Free includes one running timer, so a single countdown is always free. With Plus, run several at once, such as the oven, the laundry and a meeting, each on its own card.

Countdown timer questions

How do I set a countdown?

Open the counter settings, choose Timer and set how often, for example every 1 minute, with a target of 10 for a 10 minute countdown. Next in shows the seconds left in the current minute.

Can I count down in seconds?

Yes. Set the interval in seconds, such as every 1 second with a target of 90 for a 90 second countdown.

Can I run more than one countdown?

Free includes one running timer at a time. Tapsle Plus runs several at once, each on its own card.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the countdown on screen while I work?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the countdown floats above your other windows. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.

Set the time. We will count it down.

Free, no account, and the time left is always on screen.
