What is a random number counter?

A random number counter gives you a new number between a minimum and a maximum each time you tap, instead of adding one. In Tapsle it is a counter mode: set 1 to 100, tap, and get 57. Tap again and get 12.

  • Any minimum and maximum
  • A new number on every tap
  • Big enough to read across a room
  • Several random counters side by side

Set a range, then tap.

Switch any counter to random mode and choose the range. Each tap draws a new number, big enough to show a room from the front.

Dice, coins and ranges

Set 1 to 6 for a dice, 1 to 2 for heads or tails, or any range for a game or a draw. Each random counter keeps its own range.

Random number counter questions

How do I set the range?

Open the counter’s settings, choose random mode, and enter the minimum and maximum. Each tap then draws a number in that range.

Can I use it as a dice?

Yes. Set the range to 1 to 6 and each tap rolls it.

Is every number equally likely?

Yes. Each tap picks a number in your range with an equal chance for every number.

Can I keep the counter on screen while I work?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the counter floats above your other windows, with a Draw button inside it, so you can draw while your slides or video stay on screen. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the counter on screen while I work?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the counter floats above your other windows, with +1 and −1 inside it, so you can count while you read, watch or type. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.
