What is a yoga timer?

A yoga timer tells you when to move to the next pose, so you hold each one for the time you intended. In Tapsle, set the timer to add one every 30 or 60 seconds with a target for the number of poses. A soft sound marks each change and a different one ends the practice.

  • Hold times of any length
  • A soft sound at each pose
  • Poses counted to your target
  • No buttons in focus mode
Timer mode, in Tapsle

Any counter becomes a yoga timer.

Open a counter’s settings, switch Counting to Timer and set the schedule. Tapsle adds to the count on every interval, plays your sound, and stops at the target. Pause from the card whenever you need to.

Long holds for yin

Yin yoga holds a pose for 3 to 5 minutes. Set the interval to 3 minutes and the target to the number of poses, and the sound lets you stay still without watching a clock.

Savasana without an alarm

End a practice with one quiet interval, such as 5 minutes, and Chime as the target sound. It is gentler than an alarm and you do not need to reach for your phone.

Yoga timer questions

How long should I hold a pose?

Many practices hold a pose for 5 breaths, about 30 seconds. Yin holds for 3 to 5 minutes. Set the interval to the hold you want.

Can the sound be gentle?

Yes. Turn on Tap sound in Preferences, keep the volume low, and choose Chime or Bell as the target sound for the end of the practice.

Can I use it to teach a class?

Yes. Put Tapsle on a screen or speaker and everyone moves on the same sound. Share a counter link with Plus so a second screen shows the pose count.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the timer on screen during an online class?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the yoga timer floats above your video call. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.

Roll out the mat. We will keep time.
