What is an EMOM timer?

EMOM stands for every minute on the minute. At the start of each minute you do a set number of reps, then rest for the rest of that minute. The faster you finish, the longer you rest. In Tapsle, set the timer to add one every minute with a target, and each beep starts the next set.

  • A beep at the top of each minute
  • Minutes counted for you
  • A target, like 10 or 20 minutes
  • Any interval, for E2MOM or E90S
Timer mode, in Tapsle

Any counter becomes an EMOM timer.

Open a counter’s settings, switch Counting to Timer and set the schedule. Tapsle adds to the count on every interval, plays your sound, and stops at the target. Pause from the card whenever you need to.

Alternating EMOMs

For two exercises, do the first on odd minutes and the second on even minutes. The count shows the minute you are on, so an odd number means the first movement and an even number the second.

E2MOM and other intervals

Heavier sets need longer. Set the interval to 2 minutes for every two minutes on the minute, or 90 seconds, and the same count keeps track.

EMOM timer or a stopwatch?

A stopwatch counts up. An EMOM timer tells you when each minute starts and how many are done.

EMOM timer questions

What does EMOM mean?

Every minute on the minute. You start a set of reps at the top of each minute and rest for whatever is left of it.

How do I do an alternating EMOM?

Use one counter with a one minute interval. Do the first exercise on odd minutes and the second on even minutes, reading the minute from the count.

Can I set 2 or 3 minute intervals?

Yes. Set the interval to any length, such as 2 minutes for an E2MOM or 90 seconds, and set the target to the number of rounds.

Is Tapsle free?

Yes. Unlimited counters, targets, steps, notes, lock, focus mode, pop out and export are free, with no account. Free includes up to 5 groups and 1 counter on a timer. Tapsle Plus adds sync, backups, longer history, shared counters and integrations, for $2.99 a month or $25.99 a year.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once Tapsle has loaded, counting keeps working with no connection, and you can install it on your phone or computer like an app. Your counts are saved on your device as you go.

Can I export my counters?

Yes, free. Export saves every counter to one file, and Import brings them back on any device. Your counts belong to you.

Can I keep the timer on screen while I train?

Yes, on Chrome and Edge on a computer. Choose Pop out and the EMOM timer floats above your workout video, still beeping and counting minutes. Phones and Safari do not support this, so the button only appears where it works.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your counters stay on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you turn on sync with Tapsle Plus.

What is the difference between Free and Plus?

Free is the counter: unlimited counters, up to 5 groups, 1 timer counter, targets, offline use, export and 7 days of history. Plus is memory: sync across up to 5 devices, nightly backups, 60 days of history with charts, shared counter links, unlimited groups and timers, and integrations. Cancelling Plus never removes a counter.

On the minute. We will count them.

Free, no account, and every minute is counted.
